Taipei Computer Association (TCA), a COMPUTEX co-organizer, stated that amid
the rapid developments of Generative AI (GenAI), Agentic AI, and Physical AI,
the ICT industry in 2026 has entered a critical phase of AI integration, driven
by High-Performance Computing (HPC), Edge AI, and green transformation. This
year's competition was fervent, demonstrated by the significant growth in both
the number of entries and the cutting-edge innovation of the participating
products.
The COMPUTEX Best Choice Award, Best Choice of the Year, will be announced at
the opening ceremony on June 2nd, and the award will be presented by the
highest-ranking government official in attendance. Winning products will be
displayed at two locations: Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) Hall 2,
4th Floor, R1214a and Xinyi TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, 1st Floor, A1235a.
International and local buyers and professionals are welcome to visit. All
award-winning product descriptions and reasons for winning will be published on
the official Best Choice Award website:

MIC: Taiwan's ICT industry will continue to play a critical role in the
global supply chain, supporting and driving the innovation and implementation of
AI technology.
Chris Hung, Senior Industry Consultant/Vice President and Director General of
the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), pointed out in his keynote
speech examining “ICT Industry Trends Driven by AI,” that the ICT industry
ecosystem, apart from being affected by external factors such as the US-Iran
conflict and US tariff policies, the expansion and deployment of AI applications
continue to be the primary engine for industry growth. Observing recent progress
in AI, development has extended from Large Language Models (LLMs) to
applications in fields like AI Agents and Physical AI, moving toward practical
implementation. Consequently, in addition to sustaining the rollout of AI data
centers, this has also driven investment across the upstream and downstream
sectors of AI servers, including server racks, liquid cooling, power grids,
switches, and AI chips.
In response to the Edge AI trend driven by domain-specific applications, AI
has further extended to edge AI and end-user devices such as industrial
computers (IPCs) and AI PCs. This shift toward real-world AI implementation is
also driving the development of network "computing and transmission power." This
includes integrating AI-native design thinking into B5G/6G, while end-user
device communications are moving toward higher reliability and faster speeds,
such as Wi-Fi 8. Riding this wave of AI trends, Taiwan’s upstream and downstream
ICT industries will continue to play a critical role in the global supply chain,
supporting and driving the innovation and practical implementation of AI.

General of the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC)
High Performance Computing (HPC): The Re-Evolution of AI Infrastructure and
HPC
Driven by the AI wave, AI infrastructure-related products have demonstrated
strong momentum in R&D. Notably, Delta Electronics won two Golden Awards for its
“AI Containerized Data Center” and “800VDC 2.4MW Liquid-to-Liquid Coolant
Distribution Unit (CDU)” that solved the challenges of heat dissipation and
power supply under high-density computing. NVIDIA's next-generation architecture
"NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 " and "NVIDIA Jetson Thor," designed specifically for
Physical AI and robotics, also received Golden Awards. Phison Electronics' 245TB
ultra-high-capacity enterprise-class solid-state drive, PASCARI D206V, also won
a Golden Award for its ability to increase storage density in hyperscale data
centers.

▲The winners of COMPUTEX's Best Choice Award
2026 have been officially announced, with Senior Advisors to the President Shen Jong-chin presenting the Gold Award.
Edge AI Devices Innovation: Widespread Adoption of AI PCs and Ultra-Fast
Wi-Fi 8 Connectivity
With semiconductor processes continuing to advance, AI PC and Wi-Fi 8
technologies officially entered the consumer and commercial markets in 2026.
MediaTek won the Golden Award with its " AI-Ready, Single-chip Wi-Fi 8 tri-band
connectivity chip with UHR+," leading the upgrade of communication standards. In
the Edge Devices sector, the Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processor delivers
platform computing performance of up to 180 TOPS, offering diverse applications
ranging from AI PCs to edge AI computing, earning a Golden Award recommendation.
MSI's "MSI GeForce RTX™ 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z" graphics card, which integrates
thermal management, power delivery, and visual interaction within a single
flagship architecture, claimed the Golden Award. GIGABYTE's "AORUS RTX 5090 AI
BOX" and Phison Electronics' "aiDAPTIV™ AI PC Turbo-Inference Solution"
demonstrate that personal computers are evolving into powerful AI computing
terminals.

▲The winners of the COMPUTEX Best Choice
Award 2026 have been officially announced, and the category awards were
presented by Ms. Huang Ya-ping, Deputy Director-General of the Digital
Industry Agency, Ministry of Digital Development.
Cross-Domain Development: Advancing Smart Cities, Healthcare, and Robotics
Technology
AI technology is transcending hardware boundaries and penetrating deeply into
various vertical application sectors. In digital healthcare, Acer’s “Acer
Medical VeriSee GLC”; in the smart city and robotics domain, Siemens' "SIMATIC
Robot Pick AI Pro," E Ink's “E Ink Spectra 6", and Elan Microelectronics' "Drone
image processing and AI object detection and tracking" — all demonstrate the
immense potential of AI in enhancing urban governance and production efficiency.
Special Awards: Sustainable Tech and SME Awards Showcase Innovative
Strengths
As global attention shifts toward environmental protection, the number of
winners this year for the "Sustainable Tech Special Award" established a new
record. Winning companies include Delta Electronics (AI Containerized Data
Center), Sharp Taiwan (SHARP ePoster Electronic Paper Display), ASUS (ASUS
ExpertBook Ultra), AUO Display Plus (AecoPost) , NVIDIA (NVIDIA Vera Rubin
NVL72), Wincomm (Mobile Medical AI Workstation on Wheel) , and ADATA Technology
(NOVAKEY RGB DDR5). This demonstrates that while pursuing powerful computing
capabilities, low power consumption and environmental sustainability are also
key areas of focus during R&D for corporations.
In addition, two new products won the "SME Special Award" this year: eYs3D 's "
Cloud-Collaborative AMR Platform with VLM " and PLANET Technology's "AI
Surveillance Station" demonstrating that even SMEs with relatively limited
resources possess strong technological and R&D capabilities.
